Terms of Service

Welcome to Ambar. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of myambar.com (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site, submit a business listing, write a review, or make a payment through the Site.

2. Business Listings

• Anyone may submit a business listing free of charge via the "Add Business" form.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit, including business name, address, contact details, and description.
• We reserve the right to edit, decline, or remove any listing that is inaccurate, fraudulent, or violates these Terms.
• Listings are intended for legitimate, Ethiopian-owned or Ethiopian-community-relevant businesses. We reserve the right to remove listings that do not fit the purpose of the directory.

3. Reviews

• Reviews must reflect a genuine experience with the business being reviewed.
• We reserve the right to remove reviews that are fraudulent, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise violate these Terms.
• Business owners may not write reviews of their own business or pay/incentivize others to post fake reviews.

4. Paid Subscriptions (Basic, Premium, Featured)

• Paid listing plans are billed monthly via Stripe on a recurring basis until canceled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain plan benefits until then.
• Subscriptions are non-refundable. We do not provide partial or full refunds for unused time in a billing period.
• If a payment fails, your listing may automatically revert to the Free plan.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice.

5. Donations

One-time donations made through the Site are voluntary contributions to support the operation of Ambar and are non-refundable.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent business listings or reviews.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its data, or other users' accounts.
• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, copy, or republish Site content without permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and all business listings, reviews, and information are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing, review, or third-party content on the Site. Your interactions with businesses listed on the Site are solely between you and that business.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ambar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or your dealings with any business listed on the Site.

9. Changes to the Site or Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Site, or update these Terms, at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
